Use mockups to explore a presentation idea
A mockup can help a team discuss a direction before investing in a full shoot or final design. You might explore a box on a display shelf, a bottle in a campaign scene or a product arrangement for a launch. The useful outcome is a visual idea that makes the discussion more concrete.
In MagnutAI, this work uses the image generator or Photoshoot with product references and scene instructions. This page does not describe a separate engineering-grade mockup engine or a guaranteed one-click packaging replacement tool.
Separate the product from the presentation
| Keep accurate | Allow creative exploration |
|---|---|
| Product shape and proportions | Background and lighting. |
| Approved logo and label content | Camera angle and scene composition. |
| Materials and visible mechanisms | Props that are clearly part of the scene. |
| What the customer actually receives | Concept display arrangements, labeled as concepts. |
Tell the reviewer which parts are approved product facts and which are proposals. That distinction matters when a concept is later reused by someone who was not involved in creating it.
Example: a gift-box presentation concept
For an illustrative gift box, supply the actual box photo and ask for a restrained tabletop arrangement. Specify the box size, label position and visible contents that must remain fixed. You can explore a warm seasonal setting and a neutral evergreen version without changing what the box contains.
If the result invents an insert, a ribbon or an extra item, either correct the image or clearly identify it as a concept element. Do not let an attractive proposed arrangement quietly become a product-listing promise.
Choose the right tool for the degree of accuracy required
AI generation is useful for exploring mood and composition. A production packaging file needs precise dimensions, layout, color and print requirements. A digital screen mockup may require exact interface pixels. For those tasks, use the appropriate design source and production tools alongside the creative concept.
When the physical product is already final, AI Photoshoot can be a more focused starting point. When the visual idea itself is still open, text-to-image generation gives you a broader space to explore.
Keep concept approval separate from production approval
Name the file so its status is clear. Record which image is the original reference, which is an exploratory mockup and which export has been approved for public use. Ask the reviewer to check both visual appeal and factual representation.
Before publishing, compare the final image with the actual product and the offer details. If the concept depicts an unreleased design, say so in the surrounding copy. A useful mockup helps people make a decision; it should not create confusion about what exists today.
